CREST Gold Award

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about doing the CREST Gold Award and was wondering if anyone here has done it before. How was the experience? Was it difficult, and what kind of project did you do? Any tips or advice would be really helpful! Thanks in advance.

Hi I'm y11 and did it last year 🙂 I'd recommend following the recommended structure really well and pick a project with really good theory behind it (I did botany and plants so I could go from all the basics through to different root structures and soil pHs). I do admit I did make up a whole bunch of it (probs 60%) + altered my experiment to fit my results... I did about 70 pages of writing/ theory/ diagrams as a guide, and it probably took me 50-60h total. Honestly I'd only do it if you think you really need it, I found it tedious, dull and pretty pointless. Lmk if you want any more advice!

As I can't find any work experience in pharmaceutical settings... I will talk to my biology teacher and decide if I should do it! Thank you so much!
