Studying Diagnostic Radiography at BCU has given me the skills and confidence to step into my future career. The hands-on learning, clinical placements, and career support have all played a huge role in preparing me. My placements at both major trauma and community-based hospitals have been invaluable. I’ve gained hands-on experience with X-rays, CT scans, and fluoroscopy, improving my patient care and teamwork skills. Applying what I’ve learned in real clinical settings has made me feel more prepared for the job. The practical learning approach at BCU has helped me understand things better Through simulations and collaborative workshops. I’ve been able to apply the theory I’ve learned and build my confidence. The career support at BCU has also been amazing. For example, accessing one-on-one meetings with Careers+ has helped me prepare for interviews by giving me valuable advice on structuring answers and presenting my skills effectively. BCU also organised a career fair for radiography students, where I met potential employers and explored different job opportunities. Being a Student Ambassador has also strengthened my communication and multitasking skills, which are both essential in a clinical setting. BCU has given me everything I need to feel ready and excited for my future as a diagnostic radiographer!
