Want to change the places of study

I am currently studying first year music at University (did foundation year as well) and I really like it. However, I don't
find it challenging enough. I would love to go to classical music course at Leeds conservatoire but I'm not sure if it's a bit late to be considering a different place to study. But I do really want to focus more on theory and an instrument more. I'm currently only grade 8 piano which is a bit low I think but its because I took quite a long break from playing. So I wanted to ask if Leeds conservatoire would be focused more on the performance and theory than uni and what level would the first year require to be accepted if lucky enough.

PS maybe bacuse its spring now I want to change university but I do think that I want to do more of playing and theory work.

Hi Shrimpster👋,

It's never too late to change your mind about which university you study at. You can start exploring your options for your next academic year by viewing the second and third year modules across different universities to see what inspires you. It's worth attending Open Days for the universities you're interested in to chat with the staff about whether you have the prerequisites needed to transfer to their music course.

I wish you the very best of luck with whatever you decide.
