Hi @emmanuel.v2,

Thank you for your message 😊

Both Oxford Brookes and Portsmouth have great things to offer, and it’s great that you're already thinking carefully about your future.

If you're considering Law with Business, Oxford Brookes could be a great fit. especially if you’re looking for a degree which combines strong academic grounding with real-world legal and commercial experience.

You’ll build a solid understanding of how law operates in a business context, studying Company Law, Contract Law, Criminal Law, and Public Law, all while developing commercial awareness through modules like Foundations of Business and Business Ethics.

We offer lots of opportunities to put your knowledge into practice:

Take part in mooting, client interviewing, and pro bono work

Join our nationally recognised mooting team

Access mentoring schemes and career events with legal professionals

Study abroad or take on a work placement to broaden your experience

You’ll be taught by friendly, supportive staff, many of whom are involved in high-profile legal research, and your personal academic advisor will be there to guide you throughout your studies.

Many of our graduates go on to become solicitors, barristers, or work in-house in legal, policy, finance, or business roles. Others have joined organisations like:

The Home Office

Intel, Aldi, and Virgin Mobile

The Civil Service, police, and more

The skills you'll gain open doors far beyond the courtroom! 🎓

It’s also really worth considering:

The feel of the place - do you like the campus and city vibe?

Location - do you want to be closer to home, in a bigger city, or somewhere more relaxed?

Support networks - what kind of academic and personal support is available?

Extracurriculars - whether it’s clubs, sports, or volunteering, what’s on offer outside the classroom?

At Oxford Brookes, we’re lucky to be based in a vibrant city with a huge student community, rich history, and lots going on, all with a friendly, welcoming campus feel.

If you’d like to chat more about Brookes or arrange a visit, we’d love to help. Good luck choosing the place that feels right for you!

Best wishes,

Clare
