Mill Hill county high school London

Hi, please can someone advise me on this school for sixth form.

I am planning to go here but I’d like some honest reviews about the school from current or recent pupils.

Is there good support for students? And what’s the teaching like?

Thanks in advance ☺️

Hi thanks for your reply! I’m hoping to do Biology, Chemistry and Geography. Any idea what the teachers are like for these subjects?

I’ve been hearing there are some behaviour issues in the school, like gang culture…is that true?

honestly no ive never heard any kind of gang culture stuff at my school, obviously theres a very small amount of people who get involved with some bad stuff but thats quite common for any london school but theyll probably be gone in sixth form as they wont get the grades to come to this school.

Thank you again for your reply. I have an offer from Whitmore too, so really debating which one would suit me better. Overall Whitmore looks like they have better grades but Mill Hill looks like it’s much more organised.

Glad to hear! So you find the teachers are supportive? My last school was awful so I had to be homeschooled. Being able to learn at my own pace has been good but I miss the interaction I had at school.

I’ve been going to the school for the last 5 years, having busts finished GCSEs. MHCHS is overall a great academic school with generally good to brilliant teachers, who are passionate about their subjects. There is also a nice environment with field and forest surrounding a lot of the school. However, there is rather little to do in the immediate vicinity, so I wouldn’t expect to do things outside school during any breaks. Bus links are at least a 10min (usually 15min) walk from the school. Perhaps it’s only an issue that I have, but there is a new uniform policy next year for the sixth form only allowing smart business clothes. This is just not what I really want for another 2 years, especially when most colleges and MHCHS every year before have very few restrictions on clothing. Regardless, Mill Hill is still a great option.
