Choosing unis

Hi everyone! I'm an international student currently looking to apply to different unis in the UK. My grades are pretty strong and I'm considering PPE as my degree, or at least something fairly similar. However, I'm not too sure where to apply to. Really, I have three priorities:

1) A good uni for my degree with high rates of employability
2) A uni with a good overall vibe. Please do keep in mind that I'm not only talking about nightlife but also about the social scene. I'd love to go somewhere with a wide variety of international students and with an environment that makes it fairly simple to meet new people/ make friends.
3) (If possible and def open to suggestions) I've been considering town/city unis rather than only campus-based unis. I do think this adds to the vibe that I'm looking for, but I'm open to hearing otherwise.

Please let me know about your experiences at the uni you're going to and whether or not you think it would fit this description. Also, if you have any suggestions for unis that you think would go well here, that'll also be great. Thanks so much x

Hello,

It's great to hear you are thinking of studying in the UK.

Choosing a university can be very challenging, I highly recommend you use the UCAS Undergraduate courses website to search through courses and find the best university for you. The website allows you to filter your grades and key areas of the UK you want to live in, so it's a good way to narrow down your choices. Then, you can look into the university and search for individual reviews.

Or the Whatuni website is good for Find A Course, as they have a full comprehensive list with reviews. Similarly, the UCAS website has tips on Comparing undergraduate courses and unis, which is a great way to narrow down your options.

At the University of Reading, there is a BA Philosophy Politics and Economics course, which you may be interested in..

When I was applying to the university, I found it very helpful to attend an Open Day; however, for students who live far away or do not have access to an Open Day, there is a Virtual Tour, which prospective students can look at from their homes. I highly recommend you have a look at the Virtual Tour; it provides an insight to the campus.

If you have any questions, please let us know, and we will be happy to help.

All the best,

I'm hoping for over a 9,5 average and hopefully a 9 in math (I'm not sure as to how that translates to the UK system, sorry!!)
