peri's year 13 academic comeback ! (GYG)

** This is a pretty rushed introduction post but I'll make a more official one when I'm less busy and stressed with exams **

So, the current situation is that I have an exam tomorrow and somehow have come this far without having a clue what it's about. Practical exams truly are the worst.
My motivation has truly been in the trenches because of the exams so this is once again a last ditch attempt at holding myself accountable.

I know studying every single day isn't realistic or really that healthy for me to be doing, but I feel like that's going to be the goal - even if it is just 10 minutes of flashcards some days. It's April 1st right now, so I have 41 days until my first official written exam. So, 41 days of revision I shall do.

I'll probably come back with like weekly or bi-weekly updates on my study stats and just a general update on how much more chaotic I can get with my studying.

And I've procrastinated about 20 minutes by writing this. I need to go revise now. Byebye! <33

Hi! Welcome to GYG.
:goodluck: with your exam tomorrow. Are you Welsh or Irish? because I don't think England has practical exams.

oh, I didn't know england doesn't do prac exams! that's so odd because they feel so important to learning science subjects. you are right, though. i'm a Welsh girly trying to fight her way through the quite dodgy Welsh exam board 🫣

I think I've just had the busiest three weeks of my life so far, so I'm finally updating this! starting with my kind of short, kind of boring introduction...

INTRODUCTION !
- hi! i'm peri (not my real name), a 17 year old alevel student from wales !
- i take biology, chemistry, physics, and this horrific, waste of time, compulsory subject called welsh baccalaureate
- i am absolutely set on becoming a pharmacist in the future, and i've firmed my offer for KCL for MPharm (i'm so excited !!)
- i'm a dancer in my free time, in a competitive and recreational sense. i'm even a young associate for my country's national dance company two years in a row!
- finally, i have a studytok account called @peristudies where i sometimes post and it has allowed me to meet some really good friends !!

UPDATES !
- my practical exams went quite well considering how underprepared i felt for them
- i'm 4 exams into year 13 so I only have 9 left now !
- my next exam is the 7th of may for my chem practical
- i got a job ?? this one caught me off guard a little, not sure why i chose NOW of all times, but hey, it's fun 😭
- i firmed KCL with an ABC contextual offer for MPharm which I'm so excited about !
- most of my time has been chaos and dancing (and injuries) because I had a comp that finished just yesterday

overall, i'm having a much more grand time than i was when i started this thread. i'm so hoping it stays that way 🤞🏻

STUDYING !
- so far for april i've got a daily average of 2 hours and 10 minutes studying
- i've shocked myself with the fact i've only taken 2 off days so far too
- i'm mainly focusing on biology year 13 (due to my lack of a teacher 😬) and chemistry for year 13 and 12
- i'm most confident in year 13 biology but i kind of want to change that to being chemistry because I need it most
- the plan going forward is to try to revise at least an hour for each unit/exam that i'm sitting every week (so minimum 9 hours a week)

thank you so much for reading all of that if you did. as i said before, i really need the accountability. anyways, see you on the other side of my revision grind 🫶🏻
