Is it worth droping down a science tier???

So i am in Y11, I did my 1st Science exams last year (y10)
and I did pretty well (B's), however i had very few exams that summer (Unit 2 LIT & 3 science exams) so WAY less stress and stuff. I also had since year 7 to learn the topics hence why i did well (topics were also easier in general)

Now I have my second round of science papers i have only had since like september to learn these topics... And i really bdon't get or understand them... I am failling all the QER questions my chem tecaher gives me... and so idk what to do

I spoke to my physics teacher about droppping to foundation BIO & CHEM but staying at higher PHYSICS this is because foundation gives C as highest you can get, but with a high physics and my prac i could techanlly get a B

But lets be reall here i'm not! its going to be around a C- and if I stay at full on higher i will end up with a C or D any way
If i drop down the two papers i would have to pay. it is £25.78 a paper (just under £52 for both)

I don't know if it is worth it because it is the same ish grade either way, there is also a high chance i'll end up just not doing the exam, or just not revising anyway... and i don't want to waste my mum & dads money because of this

please give me some advice
(NOTES-I do double science- I am going down an english, drama, media route- with no maths or science involved, exam board- WJEC)

My suggestion would be to download past papers at both tiers and do both. Then have a look at the grade boundaries and see which you prefer/did better on. Maths GCSE for example claim that a "grade 4" student would get a 4 at higher or foundation tier. But, I've seen students that consistently do a lot better at one tier or the other.

Also keep in mind where you want to end up and the subjects you want to study at KS5. Make sure that any subject requirements are met. Good luck!

Grade bounderies are (taken from JUNE 2024)
(THESE ARE THE RAW MARKS)
BIO out of 60
Higher- A*45, A-037, B29, C21, D16 E13
Foundation- C-33,D-29 E-26,F23 G200 U00
CHEM out of 60
Higher-A*43, A29 B21 C13 D9 E7
Foundation-C27 D24 E210, F18 G15 U-0
PHYSICS out of 60 (doing higher)
Higher- A*48 A38 B28 C19 D14 E11

To get a C I would likely need UMS points of approx.- 216 hard to say how many raw....
There is a high chance i will just walk out the exam NO-MATTER THE PAPER

Going down an ENGLISH background I don't need science, I do 12 GCSE'S for crying out loud (2 science)
I only like 5 or 6 A*-C (whitch ive alraedy done as i dd some erxams last year and some are high coursework)
