D to B in maths and biology a leve

What's the best way to go from a D to a B in maths and bio a level?

Currently working at a low C/high D.

I've finished maths content but haven't done as much exam practice yet (gone over the edexcel A level textbooks for pure).

For bio, I've done AS content and done topic questions for this and need to do A2 content nkw.

Is it possible to get a B in 1 month? My biology exams are in May, and my Maths exams are in June.

Hi, I was working at the same sort of grade as you for A level Maths. I got a D in what I think was the last mock exam before real exams and I ended up getting a B in the real thing. What worked best for me was doing as many timed exam papers honestly and also prioritising lots of exam questions for topics I was especially weak at from many past years, you’ll probably be able to see a similarity/ pattern in the type of questions that are asked for specific topics for both stats and mechanics and pure. I did edexcel but these tips should be useful regardless of what exam board you do. I also highly recommend watching ‘Mr astbury’ paper walkthroughs (they were very useful imo for edexcel), Bicen maths is good too, you might want to make use of his maths countdown he normally does before exams (for retrieval), zeeshan zamurred has great videos for pure and stats and mechanics in particular, madasmaths is a useful online resource too. Hope this is useful 🙂

Really helpful to know. Were your last mocks in April?

My game plan is to do bio content for another 2 weeks and just do topic questions for maths in any spare time. Then, I'm going to focus on biology past papers and do at least 1 maths papers a day till mid May. Then grind maths for the rest of exam season

If you feel confident that the plan will work for you go ahead with it, everyone has a different study method. Just make sure to prioritise the things you don’t know/ are not confident in.
