Dental nursing to dental therapy

Is it possible to be able to go to university to do a dental hygiene and therapy degree from a dental nursing apprenticeship?

Yes it is but it’s super competitive, and you will need to do extra qualifications such as an access course/post qualifications to meet entry requirements

I’m currently doing AS and I really don’t think im good enough to carry on into a level, I was thinking about doing a dental nursing apprenticeship and trying to apply to universities through that by doing a foundation year or access course, do you think it would be possible?

this will definately help, but just bare in mind that a lot of students apply with dental nursing qualification dont get accepted the first year to two of a applying, also depending on your personal statement, interview performance as well as other qualifications.

Hi all just need advice,

So I have applied for Dental Hygiene and Therapy to 5 different universities, where I had two for for Portsmouth (Dental Hygiene and Therapy and just Dental Hygiene).
I got rejected for all 4 and then for Portsmouth Dental Hygiene and Therapy they gave me an offer for Dental Nursing instead for one year.
Should i take this offer or look for completely different courses through UCAS extra. I think all my rejections were mostly because of work experience as I just did work shadowing in a clinic over 2 days. I'm just really scared after the dental nursing program I won't have
progression opportunities, as it is also a diploma of higher education and not a degree.

Someone please give me your opinion, as Dental Hygiene was always something I wanted to.
