Applying for Second Year Entry Edinburgh University on UCAS

Hi !
I am asking on behalf of my sister who have applied for chemical engineering at Edinburgh through UCAS.

The application bas already gone through, they haven’t received an offer yet. I am wondering now, I haven’t assisted them in filling out the forms - but did they need to specify second year entry in the application or is the offer automatically based on their expected grades ?
If yes, what would be the course of action to let the university know that they are applying for second year entry ?

Thank you !

Most of the time you have to specify in the application process that your applying to year 2 however there sometimes cases where they make you an offer for year 1 entry and year 2 but that’s not always the case, and to let the uni know she’s applying to 2nd year its best to email or even phone them

Just jumping on here as have an offer for year 2 but applied for year 1, I am wondering if I will be a little out of it, basically a fresher in year 2.... Is it more usual for Scottish unis to offer year 2 to English students? For context it is for fine art and I have asked elsewhere but no reassurance I will not be "billy no mates" as yet 😬

I put my point of entry on UCAS as 1st year, although I meet the criteria for 2nd year entry. I've emailed them, and they said that they cannot change anything at the moment. Here's the message:
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to consider any further requests to switch to Second Year entry at this point. If this is something you would like when you have received your results and we can confirm you have met the Second Year entry requirements, we will consider the request then. If you were to accept your current offer and commence your studies with us, there is the opportunity to discuss a switch to Second Year entry with your Student Advisor at that point.
For context, I'm doing A Levels, and I've applied for Physics.

Do you just select on UCAS that you want to enter second year or do you have to email in advance/ give any other information?
