Froggatt Rooms Layout in Halls

Hi, I am looking at Froggatt as an option for booking my first year accommodation at Sheffield and I was wondering if anyone could help me with room selection. Obviously on the accommodation booking website you can select room numbers and I was wondering if there were any that people particularly recommend (for example even/odd numbers face the side of the building which catches more sun, lower/higher numbers are further from the kitchen, etc). Also if anyone has any tips or recommendations about Froggatt (which is better from A-H?) or any of the other accommodation in Endcliffe, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi patricktownley,
I stayed in Froggatt E block in my first year and really liked it. I was on one of the higher floors, which I liked. There was a mix of 6 people and 10 people flats (F block had the 6 person flats if I remember correctly, with E and F blocks sharing the stairs/lifts). All Froggatt blocks are a nice distance to the Edge, which is great for studying and also has a laundry room. That makes it great as you don't need to carry your washing too far, which I found was especially helpful when I was rushing between lectures 😂. In terms of room numbers, I think it varies between flats so not sure I can share any advice on that one! Overall, I would really recommend Froggatt and was happy with my decision!
I hope this helped,
Sofia (MSc Cancer Biology and Therapeutics)

Sorry i don't have an answer to your question but I was really hoping to get a flat in Froggatt too!! however whenever i go on the website to book Froggatt is never an option, I know they release them in chunks i have just never seen them and wonder if I'm doing something wrong.

They definitely release the accommodation in batches: you just need to keep checking constantly and pounce when you see what you want. I would imagine there are still Froggatt rooms that will come up. My daughter is in a top floor flat in Froggatt and it’s a good distance from The Edge - close enough (like 1-2 minutes door to door incl the lift) but not too close. A, D and G blocks are for 10 and on the road side. E and B blocks in the middle are also 10 person flats, C, F and H block are for 6 and at the end. Depending on which side your room is on in the corridor you will have either a view of the pond side and/or the block opposite, or face the other way. I know E and F kitchens face the pond side, not sure about D block. Distance wise there really isn’t much between them but GH is the one closer to path that runs towards the botanical gardens and into the city centre, DEF in the middle and ABC to the side nearest Curbar.
I think the room number layout might vary from flat to flat which makes it tricky trying to work out where a room would be. What are your options?
