I think it really depends, however if you haven’t already I would try go to one of their open days or lectures to see what you like the look of. I really like the design engineering course, and hope to apply to it when I get the chance. Sorry I know this isn’t much help.

Wow that’s amazing how did you manage that since if you had written want to do aerospace then the mechanical engineering department will think you are not committed
And good possibility of rejection
What was your esat average score?

Np ! It’s best to not apply to completely different courses as the personal statement still needs to be applicable to the courses you apply to and it’s hard to show passion for 2 different fields.

Yeah you can apply to many at Imperial, but it only makes sense if they're at different departments since individual departments tend to pool all of their applications together. Say then, it would be silly to apply separately to chem and chem with a year abroad but maybe more sensible to apply to both mech eng and aero. Whatever you believe in doing really.

Congrats on all 3 offers! From my experience, aero is the hardest with the heaviest workload, then mech eng is similar and des eng quite a bit easier (i think). Definitely look at the course content, aero and mech eng have a lot of overlap but aero has a lot more aerodynamics and plane/rocket related stuff. Also aero sounds a lot cooler when people ask you what you study.

Heyy, how did you end up deciding? I'm in a similar prediciment right now (mech vs aero)
