Doctoral loan - interrupting studies

I started my PhD as a mid-year enroller on 1 Feb 2024, but had to interrupt studies because of health reasons for almost a year (a short return in September 2024 before suspending again). I returned to my studies on 1 Feb 2025 and would like to apply for a doctoral loan. I wonder how the interruption will affect my application. I am still in year 1. I have never applied for student finance before.

Hi sekular11,

Can you confirm the name of your course, the university and the duration of the course in total (eg; 1 year or 2 years/full time or part time)?

Thanks, Clare

Hi there,

Are you returning to the same course? If the previous application is showing as 'suspended,' the university can send us over a 'resumption' to update the application. Thanks, Jason
