Brighton accommodation applications

Hi everyone! Great news!
The applications for our 25-26 accommodations are now open!
If you have made Brighton your firm offer in the next few days you should receive an email from [email protected] with the information on how to apply!

For those who have made us your insurance choice or are applying through clearing we cannot guarantee accommodation.
The deadline for guaranteed accom is the 30th of June

When applying we will ask you to submit 4 choices we aim to offer a room matching one of your top 2 choices, as 95% of our students did!

After submitting your booking preferences, you will be assigned a random, computer-generated allocation number which will determine your position on our booking list. We will then aim to offer you a room from one of your four room preferences. Our ability to offer you one of your preferences will be determined by your position on the allocation list.
Students are grouped together, wherever possible, with other students of a similar age so you will be with people who are at a similar life stage to you! In my flat most of us were 18 and there were two 19 yr olds and one person who was 20. Even though we were all similar ages we all came from such different walks of life and it was such a great experience!

The Uni has collaborated with Circus Street halls to secure additional rooms just for the use of first year. Brighton students. These halls provide accommodation in locations close to our campuses, the city centre and local amenities. If you are offered a room in one of the private halls, you will be sent a unique link to secure your room booking directly with the halls provider. An advance payment of rent and UK guarantor will be required. Your contract will be directly with the halls provider, and subject to their terms and conditions.

If you hold an unconditional academic firm offer, you may receive an accommodation room offer from mid-June onwards.
If you hold a conditional academic firm offer, as you are waiting for results, we will contact you with your room offer after your place at the university is confirmed. For many students this is from mid to late August (a week or 2 after results day).

Please note that if your offer does not go unconditional by 30 August then we are unable to guarantee you an offer of accommodation. When a room offer is made, you have three days from the sent date to accept the offer. If you miss the deadline the offer is likely to be withdrawn, so please keep a close eye on either your emails or the online portal.

To secure your offer, you will need to make and advance payment of 7 days rent, this will be removed from your first rent payment.
For Circus Street, you will need to make an advance rent payment of £250, and provide a guarantor (a UK resident between the ages of 18-75, and with a good credit history).

If you have a medical condition or disability which needs to be managed in specific accommodation, please add this to the notes section of the application and submit this as soon as you can. In the notes section please disclose your medical conditions, disability or specific requirements and provide up-to-date medical evidence to support your case.

We do have some groups who will receive priority during the allocation. There are students who will be be under 18 after 1 september, care leavers and estranged students. If you are a care leaver or estranged please include this in your application notes.

For those who had selected stay at home on UCAS but do actually want to stay in halls have no fear! You will still receive the invitation to apply for accommodation if you have a firm offer.

Depending on your circumstances you could get support worth up to £1,250 to help with your first-year study, accommodation or travel costs if you make Brighton your firm choice and start your course with us in 2025. Check if you are eligible for our Brighton Boost scheme. Please be aware that students applying for circus street will only receive the 1,250 if they apply through brighton and will not receive it if applying directly to circus street.

If you have any questions about the accommodations we have a dedicated team for you to contact at 01273 644100 or at [email protected]

Hi, my daughter deferred for a year and is therefore due to start her course in September of this year, 2025. She's not received an email inviting her to apply for accommodation yet. It may be coming soon I guess but as she's not received anything yet, should she contact the accommodation office now? Many thanks.

Hi @Stargazey

If your daughter hasn't received the accommodation booking email yet, it is likely she will received this very soon. The emails are being sent out in batches to applicants and are not reviewed on a first come first serve basis.

We'd also recommend she check her junk folder, as lots of our emails go to that folder.

If she would like to check all is OK, she is welcome to contact the accommodation team who will be happy to confirm if the email has been sent, resend the email or advise otherwise.

I hope this is helpful ☺️
