Uob summer holidays

Just got my offer from university of Birmingham for mental health nursing. Probably a silly question but do we get a 6 week holiday for summer like in secondary school and college or are we still going to be on placement? Bc that scares me so much I think I defo need time off and I liked that aston offered summer break

Hey, first of all, huge congratulations on your offer! 🥳 Mental Health Nursing is such a rewarding course, but yes, it’s a bit different from typical uni courses. Since it's a professional and practice-based degree, it's a mix of academic study and placements, which means the schedule doesn’t always follow the traditional university calendar.
You may not get the standard 6-week summer holiday like in school or college, as placements are spread throughout the year to meet NMC requirements. That said, you definitely get breaks, they might just be at different times than other students. The course team usually tries to balance time off so you get a breather between placements or modules. but always worth reaching out to the admissions team, whose details are definitely available on your offer letter and get a general idea on how your term is sread through out the year. Hope this helps

Email the uni department and ask for a copy of this year's timetable. It will give you an idea of what to expect.
