Still waiting on response from a uni

Hi, I applied for unis back in december, I got all my offers within 2 months, but I’m still waiting on one which I do find odd as I have above the required grades and everywhere else responded relatively quickly. I know they have until the 14th of may, but what would happen if hypothetically they didn’t get back to me, does the application just get withdrawn automatically? I’m not too bothered as it isn’t my first choice, but just want to choose my firm so it’s all sorted and I don’t have to worry about it. And is it normal for them to not have responded yet???

Hi @ellaren ,

I completely understand your concern, however I would not let this worry you. There are many reasons a university takes longer than normal to respond. One possibility is a high volume of applicants, or some wait for a full pool of applicants before sending out offers.

Do not panic if it takes them close to the deadline to respond, a long response does not mean you have been rejected, they just haven't sent out responses yet. Additionally, if you don't want to put it as one of your choices, you could put your firm and insurance choice before you have your final response back, however I always recommend to wait as your other offers will not go anywhere/change.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,

Yes, it’s pretty normal to still be waiting on at least one choice.

If they don’t post a decision by the deadline, UCAS will mark the application as a rejection by default.

You can always give them a quick call to check they’re not awaiting anything.
