GCSE results - aiming for Oxford

Hi, I'm currently in year 11 and doing my GCSEs this year. My goal is to study physics at Oxford and the a-levels I'm doing next year are physics, maths, further maths, and history. I was wondering which subjects I should be prioritising for 9s, if not all of them, for example the other sciences. I'm asking as biology is a weaker subject for me and I'm worried I may not get a 9. Any advice would be much appreciated

Im not sure if there are stats about number of gcse 9s and oxford physics admission, but biology was something like

The main thing they (physics) report on is the pat score

Note the number of 9s for biology admission could be just as much a correlation as anything, so take it with a pinch of salt.

But Id guess the answer is something like 9s would probably be expected in physics and maths and a reasonable number of others. The odd blip shouldnt really hinder your chances, and Id just put a consistent effort in across the board.

Your passion for your subject is what they are keen to see at interview. They will ask you questions and push you to a point where you get stuck. This is the bit they are interested in - do you try to get out of this by asking sensible questions, or just attempt to bluff. Don't worry too much about getting an 8 instead of a 9.Good luck.

If half your grades are 9 and the rest 8s, you have a strong chance.

Obviously 9s in Maths and Physics will be advantageous.

However, the PAT and interviews matter a lot more.
