Results day Inquiry

Im curious as to what i can do on results day if my results aren’t what i expected. Im doing a BTEC level 3 applied law course, and i’ve applied for law at uni. the entry requirements for my 5 choices is DMM/DDM. I’m curious if for whatever reason i happen to get an MMM instead which is a grade lower, if id still be able to get in to these unis, perhaps calling them and convincing them over the phone. Would this work? Perhaps clearing? Im not sure of the whole process. I greatly appreciate any replies. Thank you!

Have a read of the FAQs on the op here: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7499161

do you know if your BTEC results are released on JCQ/A level results day or earlier? There’s a few extended diplomas that have results out in July.

Hi, my results are released in august, not july. Thank you for the FAQ link, however i’m unfamiliar with what some things on there mean… my main question is, on results day with my MMM, would i be able to call the university and still be accepted, even if the offer is for a DMM? I’m wondering if this is common, and even possible in the first place… Thank you.

Your universities have your results before you.

If they’re willing to accept you with lower grades then that will show on UCAS on results day.

If UCAS shows that they’ve rejected you then phoning is a waste of time.
If UCAS shows that they’ve accepted you then phoning is a waste of time.

The only time to phone on results day is if they haven’t updated your offer. And in that case you’re calling mainly to ask WHEN they will make a decision and if they need any additional information from you. It’s not a case of trying to convince them.

Don't think too much now. Concentrate at your exam and strive for your best grades.

Even if you miss your offer conditions, your firm would still consider admitting you. If the unlucky happens, there would be opportunities for clearing.

Thanks for the reply, Is clearing open only for other courses, or would the law course i originally applied for still be available for clearing?

During clearing you can apply for any course with vacancies, including those you have applied previously.
