My teachers given me the first half of PREDICTED questions for Socialisation,Culture, identity - other than that i literally can't find anything, it's so annoying
1. Explain, using examples, the concept of subculture.[6 marks]
1.
Using Sources A and B and your wider sociological knowledge, explain how peer groups act as agents of socialisation. [12 marks]
Source A: (cant find a picture, but it's a small group of friends pointing at a boy and laughing)
Source B:
A group of sixth form students sit together during lunchtime. They wear similar branded clothing and are laughing as they record a TikTok video. One of the students says, “We all follow each other on TikTok. If you don’t keep up, people start saying you’re boring or acting like a child.”
Peer groups often influence each other’s behaviour, values, and appearance. Young people may feel pressure to conform in order to be accepted, especially within tight friendship groups. One student says, “It’s not like anyone tells you what to do – you just know what’s expected.”
Sociologists argue that peer groups help individuals form a sense of identity during adolescence, often through imitation, shared interests, and group norms. While peer influence can be positive, it may also lead to exclusion or bullying for those who do not fit in
. 3* Outline and briefly evaluate the view that identities are increasingly hybridised in today’s society. [20 marks]
