Uni choices

Have i made the wrong choice? I firmed UoN(Notts) for the reason the course looks good, I’ve enjoyed the university at visits, societies as well and genuinely have a feeling it will work out for me there… however, UoS(Southampton) has an amazinggg course that ticks all my interests… but has no societies i like and is tooo close to home. So i don’t know whether I’m making the right or wrong choice here, But picking a uni solely for the course without considering wider factors seems silly hence why i ended up picking notts as it ticks all boxes, just maybe not the course box as strongly as southampton does. Any thoughts please would help as I’m overthinking all the time.

You are over thinking! It sounds to me like you made the UoN choice with careful thought. There will always be other places that would have been good choices too but you just have to be happy where you end up. Its diffiuclt shutting the door on the other options.
If you changed it you would then wonder if you should have done that!

Hey Bella

Hey! As a student at the University of Southampton, I can honestly say it’s a great place to be. The university itself is fantastic, but there’s also so much going on beyond just studying. There are loads of events throughout the year, and we have a huge range of societies—you’d be surprised at what you can find!

Plus, the city is a great place to live. Being close to the seaside is such a bonus, whether you want a relaxing walk by the water or a fun day out with friends. The student community here is super welcoming, and there’s always something happening. Whatever you decide, I hope you find the right place for you, but if you do choose Southampton, I’m sure you’ll love it here!

Best wishes

What societies is Soton missing?

Have you considered that setting up a society is quite a useful experience for building employable skills and experience (as well as helping you to connect with other people who have similar interests)
