Anyone know if Cambridge Mastercard funds second master’s degrees? There are past recipients who were funded for their second master’s degrees, and the website doesn’t say anything about this in the eligibility requirements, but just want to confirm.

I’m currently decision pending for my application, hoping for an offer soon, and of course the scholarship! Best of luck to us all.

They probably do. Since there are several people with previous masters that got funded.

Looking at the past scholars can anyone pinpoint what exact values they're after

I think one similarity I have seen across some (not all) of the scholars is their research/experience being related to climate change.

There’s no mystery here; they are pretty explicit about what they are looking for, and have outlined the selection criteria on the website (posted below).

Selection criteria include:

Outstanding intellectual ability

A desire and commitment to contribute to climate resilient and sustainable futures for Africa and the world at large

Leadership potential

You can also watch their recent information sessions on YouTube.

The reality is that there are typically more qualified candidates than there is funding for, so it usually comes down to how well you’re able to represent your suitability in the application statement, and of course, a fair amount of luck.

Who knows what percentage of offer holders MasterCard fund? I know last year, they made 94 offers, which I think is a lot. But I'm wondering if anyone has any idea of how many were rejected.

Then recommendation letters might also play a huge role in that

According to their LinkedIn, they sent out 94 offers. But only 69 scholars ended up accepting
