CIE A-Level - A* Threshold

Hi,
Just trying to get some clarity on how CIE work out their A* grade boundary.
Some sources seem to suggest that you just need to get a certain number of marks on all papers combined (AS and A2), while others state that you need a specific mark on the A2 papers, regardless of the AS performance.
Apparently, there is also a difference between A Level and International A Level.
Some advice appreciated!

I don't exactly know how it works, but I'm pretty sure you need to get certain number of marks on all papers combined, since the syllabus showed that the papers have a percentage on the overall grade. For example, for 9709 Mathematics, paper 1 and 3 each contributes 30% towards the grade, and paper 5 and 6 each contributes 20%. And in the grade boundaries, it shows that you need a certain mark combined to get a certain grade. I'm not the best explainer, but I hope this helps. Have a great day Xx
