surviving and managing money
i'm litro so scared to move to uni and having to manage my money. does anyone have any advice?

it's pretty affordable, as long as you don't go out or travel loads, I spent like £300-£400 + rent a month and I'm alright

Budget is the best advice. Learn to have control and discipline yourself. For example, let’s take your meals as an example have meals prepared by yourself, and treat yourself to a takeaway here and there once a week as an example. Try to limit the amount you spend on takeaway for example, then you’ll therefore notice a difference in the amount of money you’ll be gaining and having to save and manage around for example if you personally like going all out on a Burger meal that’ll cost you £6/£7 try and get yourself something such as Fried Chicken with Chips which’ll cost you £4 and that £3 difference you notice will build up each week and you’ll be gaining or having another £12.00 to work around with instead of spending £24.00 to £28.00 over 4 weeks on takeaway. Another thing you could do is restrict yourself to a certain amount on how much you spend on food and drink (shopping) per week be realistic on the things you need and think wisely how much you’ll need to spend in getting the things you need a reasonable £30.00/£35.00 shop at a store like Aldi where you will find lots of discounts and bargains on cost effective essentials is the way forward and sensible approach. Also know how much bills wise I would have £250.00/£300.00 set aside on bills although that could be a lot less if you buy like 5L bottles of water from an Aldi to source your water and water needs will only be based around cleaning and like bathing as an example the rest goes towards your gas and electricity although with summer coming let’s be honest there won’t be a rise in the electricity bill but as security and to be safe that’s a stable amount to set aside.
