On track to failing

I am an ECT on track to failing have been on a support plan and focused on teacher standards 5,6 and 7. Now however those targets are in every teacher standard I need to be more confident and assertive? Any advice please also had a meeting with headteacher etc. about my next steps I work at a secondary school and am part of a union.

Standards 5 and 6 are easy to do. Whatever they have said you need to do. Just do it, without question and evidence everything.
As for 7, that affects everyone. Remember though that students choose to behave poorly. It isn't 100% your fault. However, here are some tips:
You own that classroom. You own the kids in it. Make it utterly clear what your expectations are. Write them on the board. Print out a massive poster. Keep them really simple and then if they cross the line, sanction consistently and without emotion.

Final top tip. There is no point in doing any teaching whatsoever if students aren't listening so take your time to get the class absolutely quite and focused on you before you start.

Good luck!

Oh just discussing my support and staying and passing, failing or moving onto a different school for year 2 and thanks for your help and support though. I asked about counselling as well though been going through a lot and asked if there was anything they could recommend as I thought I could bottle it up but, I don't think I can. Thanks for the tips too
