LSE economics or Cambridge economics which one to firm ?

LSE pure economics or Cambridge pure economics
Which one to firm ?
Confused
Do you want to live in London or no? Can you afford to live in London?

Are you fussed about being able to take external options at LSE potentially or no?

How do you feel about college life and the supervision format of teaching at Cambridge?

I'd say future career prospects are equal. LSE does have a strong careers department and the environment there is very internship focused (plus it's in London), but you could easily secure internships from Cambridge. Honestly it comes down to what you make of it.

Cambridge's course content is much more theoretical (for example Economic History is compulsory in year 1) whereas LSE has more practical options, however I would say the courses are quite similar. You do get more choice over modules in LSE.

You mention ease of getting into further studies - I'm going to assume you're referring to a Master's degree. Cambridge has a compulsory dissertation in year 3 - I think this sets you up nicely for what postgraduate would be like.

Overall I'd go with Cambridge (very slightly). The exception I'd make is if you want to get into investment banking right after university - choose LSE if this is the case.

Hi, I’m currently in year 12 looking to apply for both of these in September. I would be really grateful if you would be able to provide some guidance as to what you did this time last year, what was included on your personal statement and what you did to prepare (reading, essay comps, summer schools) etc. Thanks!
