Radiography > Obstetric Sonography

Hi everyone. I first came across Radiography as a career option after looking into the pathway into Sonography in women’s health & pregnancy.

I then attended a talk at my local Uni Open Day for Diagnostic Radiography. This interested me however I have recently researched further into Therapeutic Radiography which my local Uni also offers. I feel drawn to this as a course however I wondered if this still leaves an option into Sonography in future if I so wish to do so?

Any advice?
Thanks

Yes it would. Sonography is very competitive to get in to but most applicants will have a nursing, midwifery, radiography or radiotherapy background. You will need to gain experience in your field first and then keep applying to sonography positions when they come up. Volunteering in the sonography department while you are working as a radiotherapist might help you get you foot in the door.
