It doesn't matter which uni you study at for nursing as all courses are held to the same standard by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the NHS won't care where you studied. Choose a uni where you will be happy to live for 3 years and where you like the facilities offered by the department and the uni in general. Consider placements locations and ease of travel, and accommodation costs and availability (for all years of the course). Use the following search tool to find courses and start booking some open days.

Hi @smiley_kty

I’m a student ambassador at LJMU and thought I’d mention it since you’re looking at nursing courses in the North West. LJMU offers a variety of nursing degrees with a strong focus on practical, placement-based learning, and has well-established links with healthcare providers across the region.

Every university has its own strengths depending on what you’re after, but here’s the nursing page in case you’d like to take a look: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/about-us/faculties/faculty-of-health/school-of-nursing-and-advanced-practice

Happy to help if you’ve got any questions too good luck with your search!

Hi @smiley_kty,

Where are you based? Our Nursing with Registered Nurse (Children & Young People) course is ranked in the top ten in the UK for learning resources and student voice (National Student Survey, 2024) (Compared with unis in the Guardian University Guide).

To find out about our nursing courses, fees and modules visit: Study Nursing at the University of Central Lancashire
On our course pages, you can also hear from current/past students, learn more about placements and much more. If you have any more questions, you can also reach out to our course enquires team via [email protected].

Best wishes, ^Zac

Hey, :wavey:

Picking the right university can be a difficult decision.

However, we would recommend booking onto some open days at a variety of universities to see which uni is for you.

Everyone has different opinions when it comes to what is the best university and what is right for them. By attending open days you will be able to find out more about the course, chat to academics and student ambassadors, ask any questions and check out the facilities. By attending the open days you can also check out the local area around the university.

You can find out when university open days are by checking out their websites.

I hope this helps.

Hi @smiley_kty,

It is great to hear you are looking to study nursing at university.

Edge Hill University is located in the North West and so may be of interest to you. We offer a wide range of nursing programmes. We also have a Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre, which has a broad range of facilities for our health students.

I agree with the advice given above, I would encourage you to contact a few universities you are interested in and see whether they have any upcoming open days or campus tours you could attend, as the content of the courses will be very similar. However, the facilities available will vary. You might also want to consider whether you would like to study at a campus or city university.

The full list of our upcoming events can be found here on our website. You may also find it useful to chat to some of our current students to learn more about the student experience.

I hope this helps, do let us know if you have any further questions we can assist you with 🙂
