Any UCLan Medicine Grads Here? Keen to Hear About Job Hunting Experiences!

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm currently looking into how things go after graduating from UCLan Medicine and was wondering if any past students (or anyone who knows any!) could share their experiences finding a job after finishing the course?

Would really appreciate hearing about things like:

How smooth the process was
Any challenges you faced
If the UK Foundation Programme was straightforward to get into
If you’re working abroad, how that transition was
Any general advice for future grads
Basically, anything you’d be happy to share about life post-UCLan med school would be super helpful 🙏

Thanks in advance and feel free to DM if you’d prefer to chat privately!

Hi there! I’m a final year MBBS student here so hopefully I can help!

The UKFYP is a really simple and straightforward process and the university does support you in applying to this! Everyone I have spoken to have all got jobs this year which is good news!

In terms of working abroad, the university does help with things like having flexibility for the Canadian deadlines and as we sat our finals in year 4, it leaves time for anyone wanting to the USMLE !

I hope this helps,

Rebecca, University of Central Lancashire ambassador
