UCAS extra - diagnostic radiography

hi, i’ve applied for radiography but got rejected for all. i applied for nursing as a backup and got accepted but i don’t wanna do it, id rather do radiography. is it worth rejected my only choice (nursing) and doing radiography through ucas extra???? idk im scared id get rejected and then have no offers.

I guess the key is to work out why you got rejected and then see if there are courses in extra that do not have the same issue.
The alternative would be to find courses such as the one at Plymouth that have an intergrated foundation year

the uni i got rejected for is available in ucas extra. i got rejected from it because my interview went quite badly.

Why did the interview go badly? I think you should give radiography another go. Certainly don't do nursing if you don't want to.

i wasn’t expecting their questions at all. it was mostly scenario based questions and i prepared for typical interview questions such as ‘what qualities does a radiographer need’ etc.

Did you get reject from other courses too? You would be free to apply to any extra places you would meet the requirements for except the one(s) you have been rejected from already.

Best option would be to decline the Nursing offer as its clearly not what you want to do, and think about a gap year and reapplying next year,

Use the gap year ro get some work experience - working in a care-home, special school etc. Just that extra self-confidence and life-experience should make all the difference to your interview performance next year. Or you could just do some interesting travel, it would have the same impact - Our Camps | Camp America ot Paid Work Internships Abroad: Find paid jobs through Gap 360 etc

a gap year is out of the question i have to go uni this year. that’s why im thinking about doing ucas extra. im unsure if its a good idea or if i should apply thru clearing.

do extra and then do clearling if extra does not work out.

You will still be interviewed for DR courses in Extra and in clearing. Start learning the NHS values and 6 Cs and think about how you would apply them to scenario questions and questions about your work/volunteering experience.
