Confusion Regarding SAAS Funding with OU

Hi, this will be my first time studying and I’m autistic so I’m having a bit of difficulty understanding and hoping someone can help.
I’ve applied to do my degree in criminology and psychology (course Q98) and have applied to SAAS for funding.
It states that if you earn under £25,000py then you can study for free. I cannot afford to do the degree, so I only signed up for it on the basis that it would be free as I am on an extremely low income.

I got my award letter from SAAS which states my award is £1820.
I went on the open uni to select my modules (DD105 and D120) both 60 credits.
When I move to the next page, it tells me to click a box confirming that I understand I have selected more than 120 credits but when I scroll down I have selected exactly 120 credits, not above.
It then tells me the total fee is £2544 for the two modules.
I re read the award letter and it said that if I do not go ahead with the degree I will be entitled to no future funding.
Can someone please help me? I genuinely don’t understand what’s happening here at all. I’m really panicking that I’ve thrown away my chance at ever being able to study because I trusted what it said about being able to study for free. I’ve tried to contact both SAAS and OU who have said they will get back to me and haven’t. I have sent the OU another contact form but can’t contact SAAS again till tomorrow.

Thanks for any advice!
