laptop vs tablet for university?

Hi everyone, I'm new on here and wondered if anyone had any advice for whether I should buy a laptop or a tablet for going to university next academic year.
For some context, I'm on a budget of around £150 and I'm going to study forensic psych, so I don't need to be able to do any really technical stuff, just some essays and presentations. Plus, I don't do any gaming or digital art, so that's not something it'd be used for.
I know nothing about computers, so I just need some advice on anything really. Does anyone have any recommendations for what I could get?
Thank you!

I think it really depends on what you prefer. If you're planning on using it for taking notes in lectures, do you prefer to type or write by hand? Or you could take rough notes in a notebook and then make more polished notes on a laptop later. I don't know much about forensic psych but if there are lots of diagrams or graphs etc then a tablet could be more helpful. Perhaps getting a tablet and a Bluetooth keyboard may be a good option, that way you can take handwritten notes and type for longer assignments etc.

I'm thinking of using it for both notes in lectures and essays at home, as I way prefer to type. I think the combo you've mentioned with the bluetooth keyboard is probably the best bet to be honest because any laptops I've been able to find and are half decent are way out of my price range. Thank you for the help!
