0% similarity report

Hi, I got a 0% similarity report on turnitin yesterday. It was kind of a niche assignment with less than 1100 words, and most of my cited sources were from lesser known journals. I did not use AI to write this essay. However, I’m scared that I may face repercussions for this as it seems unusual to have 0%. Turnitin literally picks up on the smallest of phrases so I don’t know how I got no similarities.

I understand that you feel a bit worried about this, but a 0% Turnitin similarity just means your work is original and hasn't match any existing content from its database. It can happen, especially with niche topics and less common sources. As long as you did not plagiarise or use AI tools to write the essay, and you paraphrase other people's work correctly, you'll be fine. If you feel really anxious about this, you could mention it to your lecturer or your seminar teacher.
