Academic References

City University have requested a reference from me, they said “Academic references are most preferred but we understand that not all applicants are currently studying. If you are unable to get academic reference, we will accept a character reference from management or other professional relationships.” Currently I’m doing an access course in college and I haven’t known my teachers for a year and I don’t have a professional relationship with someone I’ve known for a year. Do you think I could just get my college teacher to do it or does it really have to be someone I have known for a year?
Just get your college teacher to do it. They don’t need to have known you for a year.

Hi, your college teacher should be fine as they will be able to provide the academic reference that is required.

Hello! In the scenario you mentioned, I assume your college teacher can accomplish this. When approaching him/her as a reference, be sure to communicate clearly about your academic goals and expectations. This ensures you get the best support reference.

Best wishes,
Audrey
