Mpharm Sheffield vs Nottingham

Hi, I received 5 offers for Mpharm from Sheffield, Nottingham, Birmingham, Cardiff and Manchester. I now need to firm and my preferences are for Sheffield and Nottingham. Sheffield would be my first choice as I love the location, the university life and really liked the academics, however this is a new course which makes me a bit uncertain. Nottingham has an amazing reputation so I feel that it should be the place to go but I don't like the vibes there. What would you recommend? Thanks

Sheffield is a well established Uni, with a long history of running successful healthcare courses including Medicine. This Uni would not be starting any new course without substantial planning - and the GPhC would not have approved it if there were any uncertainties about its capacity to deliver.

And btw, Nottingham has just announced major staff job-cuts - that is actually likely to impact your student experience far more than 'new course' at Sheffield.

Mpharm is not a mega competitive degree subject.

If you meet any specific GCSE requirements, and, apart from Chemistry, are within a grade or even two of the A level entry requirements, apply. If you can explain in a sensible conversation why you want to do Pharmacy and that you like dealing with people, you will be in realistic contention for an offer.

Probably not but I have no real evidence for that assumption.

An offer will depend on your interview performance.

As to whether you are more likely to get an interview invitation from one over the other if you apply with below offer grades, I have no idea.
