Best summer hang-out spots in Kingston

Now the weather is getting warmer, the chances are you and your friends are looking for some summer plans to make the most of the sun. Kingston might not be as big or busy as central London but there are definitely still some great ways to make plans that are not only fun but fit the student budget!

Perhaps the most obvious one, the parks. Whether it’s bushey, Richmond or home, there’s loads of green spaces here and around Kingston that are a great little summer walk. You can take a picnic or grab an iced coffee for the journey but either way it’s a great way to de stress from uni and see a bit more of fresh scenery that you miss so often in London!

Another great option is the river. Being so close to Penryhn and Knights park, the river is great for a whole day or just an afternoon after uni. You can stop off at the shop and grab some drinks or just go by yourself with a good book. There’s a lot of benches and seating areas so plenty of opportunity to chill. As it is a popular summer spot, has a really nice atmosphere of everyone just enjoying the sun!

Finally, if you’re looking for something a bit closer to town, I would definitely recommend making the most of the cafes here in Kingston! There are so many options and the majority of them have outdoor seating. This means that you can make the most of the sun but have a good backup option if the weather quickly changes!
