Gap year decision

Hi,
I am in Year 13 now. Only one university has given me an offer. This is my 5th option and I really am not intersted to go there. I have to decide by June 5th. If I firm it now, but if I get all A*s on the results day, am I allowed to revert back on my decision and go for a gap year?

Can I ask you which university? and I think you should firm the university and if you get the offer grade then you can decide it then (maybe double check with UCAS if you can decline the acceptance by then). I was also in a similar situation but I couldn't get the offer grade and neither clearing did work for me so I took a gap year. There is nothing to be "scared of" with the fact that you are taking a gap year but if you decide to take a gap year NOW i advice you to first get a good grade in your hand (so that you have more options with uni if you are aiming for decent unis) and focus on doing like extra activities that you are planning to do during the gap year. If you taking a gap year, you really need to show that you had a meaningful time during that time related to your course.I did a work internship in one of the company and also did independent research by attending conferences to gain knowledge etc. If you just do nothing and wait until the application submission then It could do you more harm than good.
