Compelling personal reasons?

I have two years of previous study, and then started studying for a degree in Adult Nursing. So I am ineligible for the gift year. However I need to apply for CPR because of reasons I don’t want to go into on an internet forum.
I have a letter from the Dr saying how and why this affected my studies, a letter from the university saying I dropped out due to mental ill health and a cover letter from myself. Is this sufficient?
Thank you

Secondly, the university said they’d sent an electronic confirmation of my circumstances - that I was ill - which would override any letter they choose to send

Hi there,

Because Adult Nursing is an exception this means that you still have an additional year, rest assured.

So, if you need to repeat a year you're covered for this. If you need to repeat more than once then you'll need CPR in that case.

Thanks, Graeme

Hi there,

I think we've already responded to you on a different post, can you see this?

If not, please let us know here.

Thanks, Graeme

Hi Graeme. Thank you, but when I applied they said I wasn’t eligible for the tuition fee loan because of previous study, and to apply for compelling personal reasons ☺️

Just to check, are you repeating a year of the Adult Nursing course?

Have you had to repeat a year of this course already?

Thanks, Graeme

Thanks, sorry for the confusion here - you really should be covered for that year, so it's absolutely worth trying to access your account so we can see what's happened here.

Can you try sending us a live chat on your account, or calling us on 0300 100 0607? One of our team will be able to help.

Thanks, Graeme

Is there any way I can quote this like a reference or anything as I spoke to a lady on the SFE live chat and she said that I wouldn’t be eligible for the gift year, but if you’re saying I am eligible then I will try again 🙂

Sorry forgot to add because I did just apply normally as I was under the assumption that because they disregard any previous study I would be eligible for the gift year. And when I queried why I wouldn’t get a tuition fee loan, they said because I have previous study I’m ineligible

If possible, can you ask for a referral to be done?

So, when you speak to us either by calling or live chatting, you can request that your application is referred to the assessment team: it would be great to have them review this again, just so we can make sure your entitlement is correct.

Thanks, Graeme

Hi Graeme 😌 I did what you suggested, they’ve referred it to the right team and the online advisor said that it should be fine but obviously can’t make any promises.
Thank you for your help it’s been invaluable.
