Hey i got 999999888 in my gcses and it sounds to me like if you revise enough but you make stupid mistakes either your revision has a lower proportion of past papers than what it should or if it does already then you need to set more time aside for yourself/sleep more..also make sure you eat a proper diet and have 3 meals a day+drink enough water

Hi @ray9xx,

I totally get what you meam I used to revise loads too but still messed up sometimes in exams just from nerves or overthinking. It’s so frustrating when it’s not even that you don’t know the stuff, it’s just the stress getting in the way.

One thing that really helped me was doing past papers under proper timed conditions. Phones off, no distractions, set a timer and pretend it’s the real exam. It sounds a bit intense but it makes the actual exam feel way less scary because you’re used to the pressure already.

Also, I started keeping a little “mistake tracker” (literally just a list in my notes app) where I’d write down silly mistakes I made and why like misreading the question or panicking and changing an answer last minute. It helped me stop repeating them because I knew what to look out for.

And please don’t underestimate sleep I used to think staying up late cramming was helpful but it just made me feel more anxious and forgetful. A good night’s sleep does wonders.

You’re clearly working hard, and that already puts you in a strong place. Rooting for you!
