Ecf in Math A level

Hi. I am wondering if in the a level maths exam, my previous working is wrong, which leads to another mistakes later on, would I get benefit marks of ecf?

It would say in the mark scheme if it does allow it, but it could depend on the exam board and the question.

I think for AQA mark schemes there are:
method marks - marks for correct method regardless of getting correct answer or not
Answer marks - marks for the correct answer.

if you make a mistake early on in the working out of a questions then your answer will get carried forward but you will lose at least an answer mark but will get method marks. For follow on questions, usually you would get the marks if you've done the right method but used the previous incorrect value
