Eng Lang Paper 2

Does anyone have tips for revising this especially the last question 40 marker?

The best thing to do is just to practice. But not just practice - get teachers or older students to mark your work then try your hardest to act on that feedback. And whenever you do practice make sure you time yourself so you can practice writing under pressure. I do take English Language A-level so I'd be happy to look at anything of for any reason you couldn't ask a teacher. For the 40-marker specifically - again you just have to practice! But another thing to do is to read non-fiction texts. Find a bunch of articles or speeches online and read them - you might find something in there you can use in your piece. I'm not sure right now but you might be able to find a website that'll give you prompts so you can practice writing. If not you can use something like Chat GPT (wouldn't use it to mark anything tho). It might also be useful to not just plan writing non-fiction pieces but to practice planning them. I think the hardest thing about the 40 marker is coming up with ideas quickly in the limited time. So try figuring out what you would do for each paragraph in a short plan. Language and structural techniques are also really important. In my school they teach us an acronym DAFOREST to remember different techniques (can't remember what they all mean now but if you search it up you might find it. If not let me know). The acronym is helpful because you can use it as a checklist to make sure you're using as many techniques as you can to really boost your writing. Hope this was helpful (also hope I'm remembering the question paper right - GCSEs were almost a year ago for me 😅)

I've also just realised I never asked your exam board 🤦🏾*♀️. The advice I gave you is tailored to AQA
