Science revision

I’ve never revised long term and now I’ve realised although I am revising for science I struggle with the motivation for it.
How could I do this in a more motivating way for me?

I think generally there's this idea that to revise well you need to be working for hours on end but the best way is to do short amounts of revision but very frequently. For example, if you use flashcards.for revision, try doing 15 minutes of them everyday instead of hours in one sitting.

Though of course it will be necessary to have longer dedicated periods of revision - especially if you're short on time. I think a good way to revise if you struggle to do it for long periods of time is what I think is called the pomodoro technique. That means you work for a short space of time and then take a break. For example you work 20 minutes take a 5 minute break and repeat. You can motivate yourself by giving yourself a reward. Let's say you work 20 minutes then in your 5 min break you can have some chocolate or play a few minutes of a game or something like that. That way you can be productive without burning yourself out and losing the motivation to work. Planning your revision might also help motivate you cos you'll know exactly what needs to be done, leaving a little less room for procrastination

But you've got to remember that at the end of the day revision isn't always going to be fun - that's just the sad truth. So instead of thinking about all the work you have to do try instead to focus on the good consequences that will come out of revising effectively. Hope this helps 😊
