Hi @em_514

The accommodation portal on OSIS opens towards end of May/beginning June (last year it opened around 29/30 May for undergraduates and 3 June for postgraduates). If you end up choosing Kingston, you will receive an email from the accommodation office notifying you when the portal is open for students to book a room.

Just be aware that it is first come first served! The minute the portal opens, it is quite the race amongst students to book a room, as everyone has their preferences and budget. Many students have had to choose a different room size/price or halls of residence altogether due to their first choice becoming unavailable/reserved very quickly.

In terms of deadline, as long as there are still rooms available, you will be able to book one.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions 🙂

Can you tell me anything about the proposed demolition of half the Middle Mill halls??
There is no mention on the website accommodation page. Art foundation students can only choose this or Clayhill. Will that mean potentially not getting what you want? Also if you do get Middle Mill will it be like living on a building site??

Hi @humorless-snot

I haven't heard much about the building proposition for Middle Mill, as I live in Seething Wells and study at Kingston Hill campus (a little further away from Penhryn Road and Knights Park campuses). From what I've read, it is still only a proposition, and has yet to be submitted to the Royal Borough of Kingston. I don't know how long such procedures take, and therefore couldn't tell you how soon they'd possibly start constructions.

Each halls of residence has a certain number a rooms reserved for specific courses, which is why it is likely that the choice is limited.
I suggest calling or emailing the accommodation team with your questions, as they will be more likely to have the correct information. Here's their email address: [email protected]

If you need to contact any other team at Kingston or find a phone number for urgent questions, here's the link to all the contact details: Contact Us | Kingston University London

I hope this helps 🙂

Thanks Lily
The caretaker at Middle Mill was the one who said half the blocks were being demolished in June for the building of the new Arts centre. Perhaps he has it wrong but will wait and see.
