Exeter accom which one

HI guys, i have firmed my exeter offer, my campus is streatham, basically i need to know which is the best en-suite self catered accomodation. I am muslim and for that i will not be doing any partying and regardless am really quite reserved and to myself, which would be the best accomodation, thanks.

Hi there,

I don't know much about accommodation at Exeter, but hopefully I can help!

I'm sure their webpages for accommodation should give you a breakdown of what is included and what the accommodation is like, so I'd look there if you haven't already.

Other than that, I'd definitely recommend contacting some current students, which you can do so by through the link here. That will take you to Exeter's UniBuddy platform, which is a great place to ask any questions you have and learn about current student's experiences!

I hope this helps,

There's not really an answer for 'best' accommodation generally, though of all the ones I've visited, East Park is definitely my favourite (and also the newest). However, if you want a quieter accommodation, I'd recommend Birk's Grange and Duryard. They're a bit further away from the center of campus and tend to be a bit quieter.

i also firmed exeter for law and im also on streatham campus! im also struggling picking accom since i dont want to be stuck with judgy posh people

Generally, the more expensive accommodations are going to have students who are more able to afford then (and so generally a bit more 'posh') but that's not a hard rule. An unfortunate truth of university is sometimes you don't get on with your flat mates in first year, and that's fine. You're not going to get along with everyone, and you can make friends on your course and at societies instead.

Hi ramare23,

I'm glad to hear that you have firmed Exeter! I'm coming to the end of my second year living on campus, so I hope I can provide you with some insight here - though no accommodation is definitively 'the best'.

In my first year, I chose to live in an ensuite block of Lafrowda. I was in a designated quiet block, which I chose as my preference via the accommodation form. I don't drink or party much myself, so it was a big relief when I was put with other people who were the same way out, even if I didn't tick off the 'no alcohol' option on the form. I ended up sharing with a non-drinking Muslim who was equally as reserved as I was, and we ended up becoming really good friends as the year went on. And, my other flatmates weren't big drinkers either, which meant we barely hosted pres or had parties, which was amazing in terms of sleep.

This year, my situation is a bit different as I am here for medical reasons. I am currently living in East Park, but the biggest priority for me this time around was finding an enhanced room to fit a medical condition. This did mean I had to sacrifice a bit of quiet, but generally, it is quite silent where I am, so I'm not disturbed much other than from inside the flat - but even then, it's pretty minimal, even when we have hosted pres (and I stay in my room).

You should be able to opt for a quiet flat on the form, which really makes any ensuite accommodation suitable for you. The East Park rooms are bigger than mine was in Lafrowda, and are bigger than what you get in Birks, which might sway your decision, but it's worth looking at our accommodation options via our website to grasp what the rooms look like.

I hope this helps, but if you have more questions, do let me know.

I’m worried that Lafrowda is know for its party scene and not really wanting loud party accommodation. Wondering what the designated quiet flats were like in Lafrowda, are they quiet?? Or is it best to go for another option? Thanks
