Student Finance Sheffield Hallam Law
Anyone else having the same issue? i’m trying to apply for student finance for studying Law at sheffield hallam however when i put in my course and select first year it says “the year you have selected is not available” has this happened to anyone else? got me really panicking as i have defo been accepted for first year law at sheffield hallam.

Hi There!
Don't worry, this is a common thing that can happen when applying for student finance. The most common issue is that you'll likely have to choose the longer 4 year option (with work experience/placement) rather than the standard 3 year option, as all students are automatically considered for the full 4-year coverage. Even if you're unsure whether you want to do a placement year at this stage, you have to choose it as the option, as it's easier to cancel a year of financial support than to ask for another one. Once it is processed, in your second year when you know you won't do a placement you can change the arrangement with student finance.
If after all of the above, the error still shows on screen, then please contact Student Systems and Reporting at [email protected] or Student Finance England. Our Campus Code for Student Finance England is S21.
