postgraduate accommodations at MMU

Hi, I'm currently an undergraduate student at NTU, I have received an offer from MMU for masters programme however I'm currently struggling to find accommodation/hosing for myself. I'm not sure where to look and what to search for. I have had a look on site that MMU recommended for postgraduate students but I have not been able to find anything, I'm getting slightly worried about finding housing, is there any way for me to apply for student accommodation on campus even if its not guaranteed ?

Hi! Congratulations on your offer! I’m also a postgrad going to MMU this year. Depending on what you’re studying try to find housing closer to the building you’ll be at most to avoid a long commute. Once you accept the offer from MMU you will get an email from them about housing. It took a few months to receive my email, but this may not be the case for everyone. By the time I received the email I had already found housing off campus because a lot of accommodations were filling up. A few places I know some other undergrads or postgrads are staying at are host cavendish place, MSV, IQ, unite students.

We recommend contacting the MMU Student Accommodation Office as soon as possible to enquire about the application process and waiting list mechanism for on-campus postgraduate accommodation. Many schools will reserve some flexible places, and temporary vacancies may be available, especially before the start of the academic year. You can also find Manchester Metropolitan University accommodation through third-party websites, which often work with a number of providers and have many different types of rooms to choose from.

Hi @Evelinask

Congratulations on your postgraduate offer! We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester. If you have any questions regarding your offer, you are welcome to contact our Postgraduate Admissions team on 0161 247 2968.

Regarding accommodation, as @maxmanwo said, you would be advised to contact our Accommodation team who will be able to advise: 0161 247 2958. Our halls mainly accommodate undergraduates, but they will still be able to advise. We also recommend you contact Manchester Student Homes at [email protected] or 0161 275 7680 to discuss university approved accommodation.

I hope this helps.
Mel 🙂
