What do I do after university?

I will just quickly put in that I will never use my BSc in Economics degree again. I despised the degree and my time at university, and after numerous careers talk, it put me off of what I wanted to do before. I am in my final year and have less than a week until I am done with the degree.

Right now, I am applying for full-time jobs but also looking to do those free online certificates to obtain skills in my spare time. I am 20, so I am still young, but I am pretty discontent with my life right now since I have no skills, experience, or talent. It's been putting me in a bad mood in the last couple of months.

Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.

Your degree will still be useful even if you hate the subject, you can use it to add skills to your CV for jobs. For example time management, organisation, team working, communication etc. Honestly it's just spinning a bad experience into a positive- for example having a terrible group work experience and having to manage that could become something like taking initative, and managing a team/your time effectively.

Do you have an industry/area in mind that you'd like to get into? The certificates are a great idea, I would also look at apprenticeships maybe, you can explore new industries and find something you enjoy while gaining practical experience. Some colleges also offer retraining courses in a variety of areas/industries that might be worth looking at if you want to try something new. Hope everything works out for you!

I also hated my degree and I am long term unemployed (2 years after graduating). Don't do that. Find graduate schemes that are more generalised in stuff you are interested in, apply for them and go from there. Hopefully you'll find something soon.
