Warwick- switch from law degree to law with a year abroad

Hey!
I recently firmed Warwick to study Law this September.
When I applied, I initially chose the standard three-year course, but after giving it some more thought, I’ve realised that I’d really love to do a year abroad as part of my degree.

Assuming I meet my offer and get into Warwick with my A-Level results, does anyone know if it’s possible to switch to the Law with Year Abroad programme once I’m there? I’ve heard of students at other unis being able to make that change, but I’d really appreciate hearing from someone who’s currently at Warwick or has graduated recently and knows how it works there.

hey I’m not exactly the person you’re waiting for a reply from but from research and friends’ experiences I’ve heard that it’s likely you can but it’s dependent on how many spaces they have to offer for year abroad. BUT good news is apparently most people who applied for year abroad change their mind a few years in so there are typically lots of spaces available and you just have to make sure you secure a place some point earlier than when the year abroad is

thank you for your response that has helped me a bit. I thought I would most likely be able to switch once I'm on the course because Ik other universities allow you too so that's good to hear. Thank you!

Hellooo,
I’ve got an offer to do law with a year abroad. i’m not sure if it will let you, i’m only saying this because it says on the offer email:

‘Please note that once you enrol on M108 Law with Study Abroad in English (LLB), it may not be possible to transfer to another course within the Law department. We would discourage you from accepting your offer unless you are happy to study this specific course. Places on the Law M100/M101 (LLB 3 Years/4 Years) and Law with Study Abroad in English M108 courses are extremely competitive. Transfer requests once you have enrolled will only be granted in highly exceptional circumstances.’

definitely enquire though!!
