Kcl eng lang and linguistics

Hello I’m currently studying English language and linguistics at KCL, is this a good degree to convert to law and would it be strong enough for a magic circle firm to respect? I will be doing modules to do with the l will be doing thing like language in the court room and legal fields and forensic lingsuicts etc. with enough work experience and extra curricular activities, could I get a training contract from an MC firm?

Most law firms will not care what subject you study for an undergraduate degree, provided that you do well in that degree. Depending on your academic profile and other CV contents, you might be a competitive candidate for a large commercial law firm, although it is perhaps worth asking yourself why you wish to work for that type of firm (as to which see Roll On Friday and Legal Cheek for some insights into the employment culture of such firms).

So do you think it’d matter whether I go kings or Exeter since they’re both respected russel group universities?
