dissertation mistake

I am really panicking in the introduction rationale of my undergraduate dissertation I have made a mistake I have put CaCO permeability was seen and MDCK was not when it was the other way round, the limitation of the study that supported by rationale which was that poor pharmacokinetics were evidenced as discordance between the 2 is only seen with compounds exhibiting poor permeability. I am really panicking the chances of an examiner missing it are slim it's write there in the text of the cited source I do not know how I missed it I was really trying to push for a first but I am assuming my chances of that are now gone I am worried I will not even get a 2:1 now with this mistake which would prevent me getting into the masters degree I was hoping to apply for.

Thanks
Any help experience or advice is extremely appreciated, I don't know how I missed this I have read it over so many times I am so stressed and upset
Hey there,

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling stressed, and I totally understand where you're coming from - but please don't worry. There is nothing you can do to alter the outcome now.

When dissertations are marked, it is hugely unlikely that lecturers will deduct more than 1 or 2 marks for one simple mistake. So if you have done a good job overall - followed the scientific method, critically evaluated your sources and analysed your own evidence against these, explained your findings and proposed what can be done next etc - one or two marks deducted will not prevent you from achieving your First or 2:1. If you are still worried, then perhaps contact your supervisor and explain to them what happened. I'm sure they will be able to reassure you that one mistake will not cost you your degree.

I really hope this helps - keep your head up, try not to worry - and best of luck 🙂
